Four classes. One Sunday.
Art, chess, debating and young founders run one after another every Sunday at 51a Grosvenor Street. Each class is complete on its own, so you can book a single hour or stay for the whole day. One drop-off, one collection, eight children at most in every room.

The Sunday running order
Book one class, two, or all four.
Nothing is a package you have to take whole. Each class below is booked on its own, and the ten minutes between them are supervised, so a child staying on is looked after the entire time.
Masters in the Making
The art class. A different great artist every Sunday, from Matisse to Frida Kahlo to Kusama, and a finished piece to carry home at the end of it. Children work in real materials, not worksheets. All materials are supplied and aprons are on the hook.

An hour of real chess for children who have never touched a board and children who already play. One idea is taught each week, an opening trap, an endgame pattern, a way to see a threat coming, and then they play, with coaching alongside the boards rather than a lecture at the front.
What happens in the hour →The Debate Makers
A speaking game to start, one debating skill taught plainly, then a real debate in which every child has a speaking role. There is no pressure to be the loudest person in the room, and we do not announce a winner. Each child leaves with one piece of written feedback.
About the debating program →The Founder’s Studio
An hour for children with an idea, or children who would like one. They take something they already care about and work on one real piece of it: what it is, who it is for, what to call it, what to charge. They leave with a thing made rather than a theory learned.
About the twelve-week program →The whole Sunday
All four classes on the one Sunday, for one child. Booked separately the four come to $160, so the day saves you $30 and saves you three trips across town. Drop off at 11am, collect at 4pm, and the changeovers in between are ours to manage.
Pack a lunchbox. Lunch is not provided, and there is a break between art and chess.

The reason most families pick the day. You arrive once at 11am and collect once at 4pm, instead of four separate activities in four suburbs.
Supervised changeovers
Between classes the children stay with us. Nobody is waiting in a corridor or sent outside to find the next room.
Small in every room
Each class is capped at eight children, so the person leading it knows every child by name by the second week.

Who is in the room
Every class is led by someone who does the thing for a living, with a La Vita Nova team member in the room throughout.
- Every adult working with the children holds a current Victorian Working with Children Check
- Classes are capped at eight children, in a ground floor space with a single entrance
- Allergies, medical needs and emergency contacts are collected before a first class
- Children are released only to the people named on the enrolment form
- All materials are supplied, including aprons for the art class

Good to know
Can we book just one class?
Yes. That is how most families start. Every class on this page is complete on its own and nothing assumes your child was there the week before.
Which Sunday does my booking cover?
Whichever one suits you. Book the class, and we will email you to confirm the Sunday and send you the arrival details. If you already know the date, reply to your receipt and tell us.
My child has never played chess or debated before.
That is exactly who these classes are built for. Both start from the beginning every week, and a child who has never played is never the only beginner in the room.
Do they need to stay for the whole day?
Not at all. Plenty of children come for the art class and go home at 12:30pm. The $130 full Sunday exists for the families it suits, not as the expected way in.
What about lunch?
Lunch is not provided, so pack a lunchbox if your child is staying past the art class. There is a break between art and chess and water is always available.
What if we cannot make the Sunday we booked?
Tell us and we will move it to another Sunday. Email info@lavitanova.com.au as soon as you know.
Do the four-session passes expire?
They are valid for twelve months and the Sundays do not need to be consecutive. Use them for any child in your household aged 8 to 12.
Is this the same as the twelve-week Founder’s Studio?
No. The Sunday hour is a standalone class. The Founder’s Studio is our deeper twelve-week program, where one child builds a real business with a brand, a website and a launch night. The same is true of The Debate Makers, which also runs as a six-week course.
