Enrolment and consent

This is how we get to know your child a little before they walk in: what they need, what helps them settle, and who is collecting them at the end. It takes about three minutes, and you only need to do it once. Next time they come, we will already know them.

The parent or guardian enrolling the child. This is who we contact first.

Backup contact

Optional, but useful. Someone we can try if we cannot reach you on the day. If you do name someone, it is worth letting them know.

Health and safety

Tell us anything that helps us keep your child safe and comfortable. This is treated as sensitive information, is seen only by the people running the session, and is deleted twelve months after your child stops attending.

Allergies

We will always try to reach you and the backup contact first.

Drop-off and collection

Sessions run 11am to 12:30pm. We only release a child to the people named here.

Photography

Both are optional and entirely your call. Where we do not hold your consent we photograph the artwork and not your child. You can change your mind at any time by emailing us and we will remove the images from anywhere we control.

Sent privately to you after the session. Not published anywhere.

We never publish a child’s full name alongside an image.

What happens in the room

Sessions are led by our team in the studio at 51a Grosvenor Street. Children work at benches and move around the room. They use child-safe scissors, glue, paint, paper and small craft materials, and depending on the artist they may also use glass jars, fresh flowers, oil pastels or air-dry clay. There are small parts.

The studio is a working gallery and event space. It holds artwork, a grand piano, bookshelves and furniture, Children are supervised throughout, and the street door is kept closed for the whole session.

Ordinary risks include cuts and scrapes, slips and trips, glue or paint on clothing, and allergic reaction to materials. We keep materials age-appropriate and low-mess, a first aid kit on site, and a team member with the group at all times.

Acknowledgements

In short: cancel 24 hours or more before the session and we transfer, subject to availability, or refund in full. Inside 24 hours we are not able to refund. If your child is unwell, tell us with whatever notice you have and we will move them at no charge.

If something is not right

The safety and wellbeing of every child here comes first. If you or your child are ever uncomfortable about anything, tell any of our team on the day, or email info@lavitanova.com.au. We take every concern seriously, we will tell you what we have done about it, and we will always act in the child’s interests. You can read more on our child safety page.
