A place to bring people together
You don’t need to be an experienced event host to start something here.
La Vita Nova is open to artists, makers, facilitators, teachers, creatives and small businesses with an idea worth gathering people around. That could be a hands-on workshop, a weekly class, a creative club, a talk, a supper, a small launch or something we haven’t thought of yet.
If it suits the space and our community, we’d love to hear about it.
What could you host?
Workshops
Teach something you know, from art and design to floristry, writing, food, photography or craft.

Turn an idea into something people can come back to weekly, monthly or whenever makes sense.
Talks & gatherings
Bring people together around a subject, conversation or shared interest.

Host a supper, showcase, launch, pop-up or another experience that deserves a room of its own.

For selected public events hosted with La Vita Nova, we can help with:
- The space and event setup
- Booking and payment setup
- A listing in What’s On
- Promotion through our channels
- Planning and run-sheet support
- On-the-day venue support
What you need will depend on what you’re running, so we’ll work out the right setup with you before anything is locked in.
How it works
It doesn’t need to be perfectly worked out. Send us the idea, who it’s for, roughly when you’d like to run it and anything else you already know.
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll work through the format, timing, capacity, pricing and what support you need from us.
Once everything is ready, we’ll help get the event set up and give people somewhere simple to discover and book it. Then you get to do the fun part: host it.
New to hosting?
That’s completely fine. Some ideas start with a full plan. Others start with “I’ve always wanted to run something like this…”
If you know what you want to create but aren’t quite sure how to turn it into an event, tell us what you’re thinking. We can help you work through the practical side and get your first one off the ground.
Already know exactly what you need?
If you’re planning a private event, shoot, dinner, launch or celebration and simply need a beautiful South Yarra venue, you don’t need to apply to host with us. You can hire the space directly.
