Masters in the Making and The Founder’s Studio are our own programs for kids, created and run through La Vita Nova. One begins with great artists. The other begins with an idea. Both help a child make something they are genuinely proud of.
Everyone leaves with something finished.
The barrier to making art and the barrier to starting something are the same one: the gap between having an idea and having actually made it. Masters in the Making closes it in ninety minutes, with a finished piece to carry home that morning. The Founder’s Studio closes it over twelve weeks, ending on launch night when each child stands up in the gallery and shows what they built. Neither assumes any experience, and every material is provided. Everything else we run, life drawing, screen printing, the supper clubs and the exhibitions, is on the what’s on calendar.
A La Vita Nova program
Every Sunday the children meet one artist, learn how that artist saw the world, then make a piece in the same spirit that is entirely their own. Ninety minutes, a small group, and our team on the floor the whole way through.
Every material is provided, and each child goes home with the piece they made that morning.
A different artist runs every Sunday, and the project changes with the artist: scissors and paper for Matisse, tape and three colours for Mondrian, dots for Kusama.

Twelve artists in the series so far. Your child meets one a week, learns how that artist saw things, then makes a piece of their own in the same spirit.
Over twelve weeks the children take one idea and build it properly. Who it is for, what it costs, what it looks like and how to talk about it, worked out week by week the way a founder actually works it out.
It ends on launch night, when each of them stands up in the gallery and shows a room of family and friends the thing they made.
A La Vita Nova program
Artists, teachers and makers run their programs here too. Bring us the idea and we will help you work out the format, the numbers and the setup, then handle the ticketing and put it in front of our community.
